Transportation

 

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Eastern Region Highway Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 – Planning and Design On-Call Limited Services Contract (sub consultant to SEPI) to provide LEP and public involvement support on an as needed basis.

 

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Eastern Region Highway Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 – Planning and Design On-Call Limited Services Contract (sub consultant to Wetherill Engineering) to provide LEP and public involvement support on an as needed basis.

 

Chestnut Lane Connector (NCOT) U-5808 EA (sub consultant to Mead & Hunt) a new roadway construction project just outside of Charlotte, NC

 

Business 40 Naming Process (NCDOT), prime consultant engaged to create and implement a public process to renaming Business 40.

 

South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), I-526/I-26 EA (sub consultant to Three Oaks Engineering/Stantec) is a road widening project located in Charleston County in the City of North Charleston. The project proposes to widen I-526 from Leeds Avenue north to I-26. Neighborhood Solutions was contracted to conduct public involvement activities.

 

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), U-5713 US 70 EA (sub consultant to Three Oaks Engineering) is a  project located in Craven County in the Town of James City. The project proposes to improve mobility of US 70 in this area. Neighborhood Solutions was contracted to conduct public involvement activities.

 

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), U-5605 Odell Road EA/FONSI (sub consultant to STV, Inc.) is a road widening project located in Cumberland County in the Town of Spring Lake. The project proposes to expand Odell Road from two lanes to four. Neighborhood Solutions was contracted to conduct public involvement activities.

 

Moore County Transportation Committee (NCDOT),  prime consultants, to assist the Moore County CTP in identifying both existing and future transportation deficiencies of Moore County's multimodal transportation system (including highways, public transportation, rail, bicycle, and pedestrian modes) and provide locally preferred solutions that are substantiated by engineering analysis to address the projected deficiencies through study year. Neighborhood Solutions was contracted to conduct targeted public involvement activities for their planning process.

 

City of Durham On-Call Transportation Services (NCDOT), (sub consultant to AECOM) to provide public involvement support on an as needed basis.

 

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), On-Call Contract for the Mountain Region (sub consultant to AECOM) to provide outreach and public involvement support on an as needed basis.

 

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), prime consultants, Limited English Proficiency On-Call Public Involvement Services to provide outreach and public involvement services on an as needed basis to supplement public involvement activities on any contract throughout the State.

 

New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), (sub consultants to PBS&J), On-Call Contract to provide public involvement support on an as needed basis for public services/environmental justice activities.

 

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) (sub consultants to PBS&J), I-70 East Corridor located in northeast Denver, Colorado. Our Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) support focused on highway improvements beginning in 2003 as a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) sub consultant. Our efforts included door-to-door outreach to over 17,000 residents/businesses, neighborhood meeting facilitation, stakeholders and elected officials meetings, project presentation development and implementation, public meeting planning, logistics and facilitation and transportation groups� oversight.

 

North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), (sub consultants to PBS&J and later Atkins) Business 40 Highway Improvement Project located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. We joined this public involvement effort to assist with the required National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Our firm conducted a nine month door-to-door outreach survey process, stakeholder and elected official outreach, community outreach, off- ramp highway surveys, personalized document control system on collected data with statistical reports and neighborhood/corridor wide meeting facilitation.

 

Regional Transportation District, East Corridor EIS (sub consultants to PBS&J),  located in Denver, Colorado. A part of the regional FasTracks regional light rail system to operate from Downtown Denver to the Denver International Airport. Our efforts included door-to-door outreach to over 17,000 residents/businesses, neighborhood meeting facilitation, stakeholders and elected officials meetings, project presentation development and implementation, public meeting planning, logistics and facilitation and transportation groups' oversight.

 

Regional Transportation District FasTracks Public Involvement Team, Denver, Colorado. A member of the Public Involvement Team coordinating project messaging, presentation creation and dissemination, public information strategy and implementation.

 

Colorado Department of Transportation, I-76 Interchanges, (sub consultant to Carter Burgess), Brush, Colorado, sub-consultant providing outreach support to Latinos and African-American communities and immigrant populations.

 

The Regional Planning Commission of Greater Birmingham, Alabama MAGIC I-65 and US 31 Corridor Study, (sub consultants to PBS&J), Birmingham, Alabama. We developed an outreach tool kit to assist with identification of key minority stakeholders list within Birmingham. We developed a contact and distribution list for dissemination of key messages to stakeholders. Additionally, we created key outreach methodologies to include notification of corridor wide and public hearing meetings. Neighborhood Solutions was also responsible for the identification of potential environmental justice (EJ) communities within the corridor.

 

Community

 

City & County of Denver, Colorado, Asset Building Project, Five Points Neighborhood. Created and implemented resident capacity building project for low-income and working class neighborhood to determine community assets which could be used as a foundation for development. Resulted in a training & employment program for neighborhood hospital targeted at TANF mothers, community safety program which reclaimed neighborhood park from drug dealers and gang members, and an economic development program with a small grants program for businesses and civic improvements.

 

The City & County of Denver, Empowerment Zone Application, HOPE VI Grants for East Village and Arapahoe Courts, Denver, Colorado. Assisted in the identification of capacity building programs for the successful applications for HOPE VI and facilitated community meetings for Denver�s unsuccessful Empowerment Zone application.

 

Civic

 

Creative Corridor Coalition, Master Plan, provided outreach support to a potential environmental justice (EJ) community in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

 

Denver Public Schools, Manual Renewal Project/Student Leadership Outreach Campaign, Denver, Colorado. Assisted DPS in their outreach efforts to enroll dropouts back into school with a targeted door-to-door effort using trained students from the school.

 

The City & County of Denver, Quadrant Team Leader, Citizens Bond Task Force, Denver, Colorado. Lead, managed and coordinated the Northeast Quadrant of Denver in a successful effort to identify neighborhood projects for a General Obligation Bond Issue. This effort included outreach to every neighborhood in the quadrant to encourage them to propose projects and later to educate the residents about the selected projects to gain their support. The bond election was very successful passing at a significant margin.
